Time for Gaylife’s clubbing guru now. And we don’t just take the advice of anyone y’know. Let rip Nik Denton!
If you’ve been to Cruz or Sub101 recently you will have noticed there’s a bit of a project going on right outside the club – in fact you would have not been able to miss the road works right outside the front of the club. Don’t be fooled though – the club is well and truly open and has a jam packed calendar of events waiting for you throughout April and May Bank Holiday. To find out all the details of what’s on over the month, including Cha Cha Boudoir, RnBey, Drama Queen, Recreation, The Big Scrum and Aftershock, you can check out www.cruz101.com. Highlights in Sub101 this month include Aftershock’s 4th Birthday on Saturday 25th April. All the details are yet to be released but be sure to keep an eye on their facebook page or website.
It seems it’s not just the road outside Cruz that is having a bit of a facelift. Bed beneath Tribeca has recently has a refurb and has increased its capacity by 200. The refurbishment includes the installation of a brand new sound system, a new stage to strut your stuff on and a shiny new DJ Box. Featuring in the DJ box this month is a line up of super hero DJs that include Andy Daniels and David Dunn on Saturday 11th April for Foundation. They will be joined by guest DJ Hauswerks. All kicks off at 10pm.
Tribeca is also the home to house night Qwerk and they will next be taking residence on Friday 01st May. Qwerk runs from 10pm until 4am and resident Dave Booth will be joined by guest Gordon John, who will be arriving with a record bag full of funky tunes that promise to keep you dancing all night long. As its Bank Holiday weekend you’ll have to try and save some dancing for the rest of the weekend though!
Although not confirmed – rumours are circulating that ON Bar will officially open over May Bank Holiday, but keep an eye out for an announcement on that soon. You can find ON Bar on facebook for all the latest information. There are also rumours circulating that there could be a pretty big party being thrown over at the Ritz this weekend too. Keep your eyes peeled for that as well!
Definitely happening over the Bank Holiday is the second Sunday Spirit at BarPop on Canal Street. Tickets are available from Vanilla and other selected venues. DJ line up includes the return of DJ Thaddeus along side Alan Stevens, Joshua Cole and Mark Tilotson.
A few doors down on Canal Street Kiki have a massive weekend planned for Bank Holiday and their line up includes a Void bank holiday afterhours special with their resident DJs playing across the spectrum of house music – anything from bassline through to Hard House. Other highlights at Void throughout the month include new monthly nights Switch and Oddessy.
That’s your lot from me this month – see you next time.
