As summer 2015 takes hold of Gay Manchester there appears to be plenty of parties lined up ready and waiting through July and in the weeks leading up to Manchester Pride. Here are just a few highlights for you…
Kicking things off this month is The Big Scrum which looks set to continue its increasingly popular Friday night at Sub101. Last month’s 5th Birthday event proved that the club night has well and truly made itself at home at the venue. The event for the men out there who like to boogie on down with boys and men in sports kit is on Friday 03rd July with the doors open at 11pm.
On the same night gay friendly “Not So Secret Warehouse” hosts Off The Records Dyed Soundorom all-nighter over in Salford. The Not So Secret Warehouse party have been hosting jam packed events throughout the year and this event looks set to also be another complete sell out. The Warehouse is transformed specially for the events and if you haven’t yet been to one, my advice is to try and find yourself a ticket FAST.
Over at Void the summer season looks like its set to continue pulling in the crowds with its line-up of events throughout the week and of course every weekend. Worth checking out is the venues Thursday night Odyssey with residents playing commercial house: And it’s free entry until 12am. Also popular at the venue is Void Afterhours every Sunday morning from 3am with DJs on rotation that include Ross Homson, Darren Goodwin Rik Riley and Andy Daniels.
On the 18th July Cruz101 hosts The George House Trust 20th Birthday Ball after party where London Meth Lab Family Fierce will be appearing. The main event “George House Trust Drag Ball” will be housed at Freemasons Hall on Bridge Street and will host the best local drag performing through the night all under the one roof. Tickets available at www.ght.org.uk
The following week Cruz will be throwing another big weekend long event as the club transforms for their WKD Ibiza Weekend: So get your shorts on, your bodies out and get ready to party to Cruz’ distinctive pop/commercial soundtrack until super late on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th July. Remember to save some energy for the weekend after for when the club hosts their summer time White Party on both Friday and Saturday night.
On the same weekend Cha Cha Boudoir swing back into Sub101 with another session of lip syncing glory on the Friday night and Aftershock ramps up the BPM’s on Saturday night/Sunday morning with their very own White Party transformation to a soundtrack of the very best house music around.
Finally a quick look ahead at the start of August and a big event waits for you courtesy of the Qwerk crew. Put 07th August in your diary as Qwerk invite Mark Ronson scholarship award winner (Point Blank Studios), New Hall Music scholarship award winner Lucy Stone to Tribeca to join resident Dave Booth. We’re promised a truly epic party is on the card s when these two DJs meet!!
That’s it for this month – see you next month when I’ll be running through some of the highlight of Manchester Pride weekend.
